Welcome to the Coop

This is where my ideas incubate.

I’ve been drawing and doodling for as long as I can remember. Pages filled with my favorite on-screen characters. For years, I was certain I’d end up in animation. Visuals were everything to me and the one thing that gave me the most delight! This was the case up until high school.

Optimization problems

Then I discovered something equally thrilling: solving problems.

That curiosity led me to Industrial Engineering, where I learned to break systems apart, analyze constraints, and search for the most "optimal" and "efficient" path forward. I loved figuring out how solutions could be born efficiently.

But, something kept tugging me.

I began noticing that even the systems that engineers used to solve problems sometimes felt unnecessarily complex. That’s when my empathetic side started resurfacing and became very clear. I found myself asking:

  • Why does this feel harder than it needs to be?

  • Who is this actually designed for?

  • Where does it break down?

  • Why do my fellow peers spend more time figuring out the system than using that time to solve the actual problems at hand?

At the same time, I kept returning to visuals, leading the Digital Design team at TEDxRVCE, volunteering as a graphic designer for a menstrual health nonprofit, and discovering human factors along the way.

Some of my graphic design work

That’s when it clicked.

I discovered the wonderful world of UX which allowed me to combine the two things I’ve always loved: problem-solving and thoughtful design as a means to provide solutions.

Now I sit at that intersection.

Whiteboards, making sense from ambiguity.

I’m drawn to messy and ambiguous systems such as unclear problem spaces, complex workflows and even exploring emerging AI tools as a means to problem solve. I find a deep sense of gratification about molding ambiguity until it makes sense, especially when the people using the end solution feel that clarity too. And I enjoy it even more when I have an amazing team to work with to listen to various perspectives.

And I still care about how things feel.

I want users to move through interfaces with ease, and maybe even a small moment of delight, the same way I feel when I notice a thoughtful visual detail (just like those Easter Eggs in Disney movies :)).

The Coop is where I experiment, think out loud, refine ideas, and quietly optimize the things no one asked to optimize, but could be better.

If you’re building something ambiguous and want someone who enjoys untangling it, thoughtfully, collaboratively and with a bit of curiosity, I’d love to help shape it.

Thanks for clucking by my little corner of the internet. I hope to chat with you soon! :)
